abstract

understanding of the runoff generation processes is important in understanding the magnitude and dynamics ofgroundwater discharge. however, these processes continue to be difficult to quantify and conceptualize. in this study, two digital filter based separation modules, the recursive filtering method (rdf) and a generalization of therecursive digital filter (grdf) were1991–2002 in the hableh roud river at the stream gauge of bonkuh, semnanprovince. a technique for assessing the recession constants of the sub flows based on calibration the average value ofthe inverse of the value of the inverse of the slope of the linear path in the recession periods of an ln (q)-time graphis presented. the result show that, the grdf method gave higher (baseflow index) bfi values than the rdf methodwith less variability and the mean baseflow calculated on an annual basis, ranged from 3.27 m3/s to 4.04 m3/s overperiod of study by rdf and grdf, respectively. since the true values of the baseflow index are unknown, it cannotbe said, which one of the methods gives the best estimates.

A GIS-based integrative approach for land use optimization in a semi-arid watershed

The proper use of natural resources can preserve these valuable assets. In line with the management of natural resources, land use optimization can be highly useful. The aim of the present study is to propose an appropriate integrative model for optimized allocation of lands for surface runoff and sediment load minimization and net income maximization in Bayg watershed, Iran. In this study, fiv...

Evaluation of evapotranspiration methods for model validation in a semi-arid watershed in northern China

This study evaluates the performance of four evapotranspiration methods (Priestley-Taylor, Penman-Monteith, Hargreaves and Makkink) of differing complexity in a semiarid environment in north China. The results are compared to observed water vapour fluxes derived from eddy flux measurements. The analysis became necessary after discharge simulations using an automatically calibrated version of th...

مقایسه شاخص جریان پایه در روش‌های مختلف تجزیه هیدروگراف جریان در تعدادی از رودخانه‌های استان آذربایجان غربی

Baseflow separation has long been an important topic in hydrology and has a crucial role in water resources management in arid and semi arid regions like Iran. In this paper, a comparison among commonly used automated techniques for hydrograph separation including theoretical method of local minimum and digital filter of one parameter with different filtering parameters of 0.9 to 0.975 and two ...
